About me

Do you feel that it’s time to explore whatever it is that is holding you back from having the life you long for. I will provide a calm, safe and non-judgemental space and l offer over 30 years of counselling experience. I consider emotional well-being is the key to living a fulfilling life with each and every one of us a work in progress. I truly understand that it can be quite a scary prospect when contemplating talking to a complete stranger about very personal matters. It is my hope that you will put your trust in me and consider taking this big step by allowing me to accompany you as you move forwards.

If you have any questions or concerns about counselling and/or to decide whether l am the right person to support you l will be only too happy for you to contact me for a chat. There is no obligation to book an appointment

l am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) which means I have met the strict standards required to be on the Accredited Register as approved by the Professional Standards Authority.

I offer a warm, safe, non-judgemental and compassionate space for working with you to identify what your counselling needs are at this point in time. I have a deep commitment to the work I do; it is my belief that the unique relationship forged between client and therapist is the force for healing and growth.

My counselling practice is within walking distance of Burgess Hill station and is on a local bus route. I am within easy driving distance of Haywards Heath, Hassocks, Hurstpierpoint and surrounding villages.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

Person-Centred therapy: The Person-Centred approach views that each person has the ability to move in the direction of a more fulfilling and satisfying way of being and living their lives. It is based on a trust of the inner resources of the client to find their own answers and direction. The Person-Centred counsellor provides the necessary conditions for this growth to develop. The client knows what hurts and has the capacity within the safety of a therapeutic relationship to begin a healing process.
