Julia Meanwell FdSc BACP Registered
Are you wanting to make some necessary changes to your life in order to live more fully? We all have the capacity for growthful change but this can feel both overwhelming and challenging. Every one of us is a work in progress, constantly learning and finding our way in life. I truly understand that it can be quite a scary prospect when contemplating talking to a complete stranger about very personal matters. I respect and value your uniqueness and it is my hope that you will put your trust in me and consider taking this big step by allowing me to accompany you as you move forward.
I hope the following will inform you a little about me and what I am able to offer you. I am more than willing to have a chat about any aspects of counselling or concerns you may have without any obligation to book an appointment, so if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
I have been counselling for over 25 years and I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) which means I have met the strict standards required to be on the Accredited Register as approved by the Professional Standards Authority.
I have extensive experience of working with both individuals and couples. I offer a warm, safe and non-judgemental space for working with you to identify what your counselling needs are at this point in time. I have a deep commitment to the work I do; it is my belief that the unique relationship forged between client and therapist is the force for healing and growth.
My counselling practice is within walking distance of Burgess Hill station and is on a local bus route. I am within easy driving distance of Haywards Heath, Hassocks, Hurstpierpoint and surrounding villages.

Person-Centred therapy: The Person-Centred approach views that each person has the ability to move in the direction of a more fulfilling and satisfying way of being and living their lives. It is based on a trust of the inner resources of the client to find their own answers and direction. The Person-Centred counsellor provides the necessary conditions for this growth to develop. The client knows what hurts and has the capacity within the safety of a therapeutic relationship to begin a healing process.
