About me

About me

I provide an empathic, non-judgemental, compassionate and safe place for people to explore whatever is troubling them, helping them to develop greater self-awareness and access the resources which lie within them to confront and process difficulties effectively and with confidence.

Using both counselling and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), I work collaboratively with clients, supporting them to be conscious of negative and dysfunctional thought/behaviour patterns that are often related to  depressive and anxious mood states.

Addressing issues of self-worth and limiting self-belief systems in the present, often rooted in insecurities and trauma experienced in childhood, has the potential to increase a more resilient sense of self, providing an essential framework for overcoming depression and anxiety. I am both passionate and adept at helping clients navigate this painful yet transformative process, enabling them to reach their fullest potential and eventually lead happier, more fulfilled lives with meaning and purpose.

I am currently working in a co-educational secondary school as the lead school counsellor, as well as delivering mindfulness and meditation programmes to support students with exam stress and general health and well-being. My experience includes 7years as a counsellor working under supervision and 10 years as a mindfulness practitioner.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
