About me

My approach is kind, collaborative and restorative primarily guided by a model of psychotherapy called Internal Family Systems (IFS).  I work with therapists and those wishing to deepen and bring greater healing and understanding to their systems.  Whilst everyone's experience is individual, examples of things people describe as a result of working together is connecting to a greater sense ease, balance, peace, confidence, clarity and freedom to bring greater authenticity and purpose into their life.

I can help with

  • Therapists wishing to explore and deepen in their own work
  • Impact of crisis, life stages, bereavement and loss
  • Going through an illness or diagnosis (your own or another's)
  • Coming through a traumatic experience
  • Conflicting or recurring/enduring thoughts or feelings such as guilt, worry, overwhelm, anger, emptiness
  • Difficulty in knowing what you want, need, think or feel
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Changes in circumstances including stressful life events or stages
  • Discovering meaning and purpose

Our work together will be guided by you so you will never need to share, say or do anything you don’t want to.  You can expect transparency from me and to be met with care and understanding.

Next Steps

If you are interested in working together, you can enquire or arrange an initial session by phone, text or email. Alternatively if you would like to find out a bit more ahead of getting in touch, you can visit my website.

What Happens at an Initial Meeting?

In an initial session we would take time with what you would like from therapy, any questions or fears you have and consider how we might work together. If I felt I could not offer what you hope for, I would be clear about this and recommend another practitioner or service where possible. You need not make a decision about working together at the initial session.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
