About me

Life can be a challenging journey, and I'm here to walk beside you as you navigate its twists and turns. I'm Jill, a BACP-registered, person-centred and integrative psychotherapist, and my passion lies in helping individuals like you find strength, resilience, and self-discovery. I am based in Scotland and offer remote video or phone therapy sessions.

Starting therapy takes courage and I am here to support you through the process. Together, we'll create a safe and welcoming space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions without judgment.

Every person's story is unique, and I'm here to honour and understand yours. I believe in a collaborative and client-centred approach. Your goals, values, and pace guide our work together and we'll work as a team to foster positive change in your life.

Examples of issues that clients commonly bring to me are: depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, post-traumatic stress, abuse, coping with grief and loss, self-harm and relationship issues.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

How does online therapy work?

I provide online and telephone counselling through platforms like MS Teams and VSee. With this approach, there's no need for you to travel to an office, providing convenience and accessibility. Recognizing that some days leaving the house can feel overwhelming, I understand the importance of flexibility. I can accommodate sessions at times that suit your busy schedule.

My training includes a certificate in online and telephone counselling, ensuring a professional and effective therapeutic experience. All you need to do is find a quiet, comfortable space where you can speak freely without the risk of being overheard. For video sessions, it's beneficial to have a stable internet connection, so that our sessions can run smoothly.
