About me
Hi there, my name is Jackson. I'm a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society (BPS).
I respect everyone comes to therapy for different reasons and at different stages of life. I strive to offer a warm, nonjudgemental therapeutic space to safely explore your experiences and difficulties.
I recognise that though we are individuals, we exist in complex social systems that shape our experience and sense of selves. I'm passionate about supporting people to gain a better understanding of themselves and building emotional resilience.
Training, qualifications & experience
I completed my doctoral training at City, University of London in Counselling Psychology.
As a Counselling Psychologist, I have experience working with a wide range of mental health difficulties, with both young people and adults. Offering assessments and individual therapies in the NHS, I've worked with presenting difficulties such as, but not limited to, anxiety and depression, post-traumatic stress, bereavement, and difficulties in family relationships. I believe in a pluralistic approach, and that there isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ method when it comes to therapy. Drawing on my skills in psychodynamic, humanistic and cognitive behavioural therapies, I offer flexible and bespoke support to help gain greater insight into your specific challenges.
I'm particularly interested in masculinity, mental health and meditation. I've explored these both in my clinical work as well as research.
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
