About me

It can be hard to reach out when you are in need of help. The best way to start to heal is by simply talking things through. Let's start your healing process by taking this one brave step.

Our reasons for seeking therapy are unique as we are, and my approach will depend on what you bring. I offer my clients help with a broad range of issues from anxiety, depression, panic attack, relationship and family issues, loss, trauma to bereavement. Whatever struggle you are facing, my ultimate goal in therapy with you will be the same – the expansion of your world and your possibilities for life.

HOW DO I WORK?

Talking is the key. Hearing oneself speak is a very important part of getting to know oneself, deepening the primary relationship – the one with ourselves.

Being heard and being witnessed is also a very important element in the healing process.

Creating a safe, confidential space in which this process can be housed. I will invite you to tell your story, your sense of how you got where you are today, what you are feeling and what you don’t want to be feeling.

I will help you heal through relating, which means that I bring myself into the therapeutic relationship with you, making use of body and mind connections to explore the presenting difficult issues, sharing my responses, thoughts and feelings with you.

Training, qualifications & experience

As an ‘Integrative therapist’, I draw upon a combination of ideas and techniques, and I work with you as a whole person, paying attention to both the physical and psychological processes and how they are connecting together.

I am a trauma-informed and IFS-trained practitioner passionate about using neuroscience to support healing in the aftermath of trauma.

My therapeutic work is grounded in Contemporary Psychotherapy, an integrative solution-focused model that combines and utilises the main models of psychotherapy, from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to Humanistic and Existential theories and is outcome-oriented.

My training and approach are rooted in evidence-based practices, from neuroscience to somatic practices, and are culturally affirming.

Through continued professional development courses, I have become accustomed to combining therapeutic methods, Body Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems and Mindfulness to facilitate a reconnection with the body and self. I am committed to delivering such interventions in a compassionate, collaborative, and inclusive way.

I graduated with my Diploma from BeeLeaf Institute in Contemporary Psychotherapy. I am a Registered Member of BACP,  an Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society and a Full member of the Community for Contemporary Psychotherapy, and I abide by their code of ethics.

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
