About me

Are you suffering with stress, depression or anxiety? Are you unsettled from the impact of COVID-19 or rising living costs? Do you have unresolved issues in your life that are holding you back? Perhaps talking to a counsellor is the move for you!

I am a humanistic Gestalt counsellor that provides a friendly and professional counselling service who is experienced in working with a range of presenting issues including, anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief and relationship difficulties. One area that I specialise in is autism spectrum disorder.  My sessions are autism, neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ friendly.

I offer short term and long term, online or telephone counselling sessions to adults of all ages within the UK. I also offer sessions face to face at my private practice, in Fareham, Hampshire. Sessions are available Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and some evening and weekend appointments available.

It is important that we can establish a connection so you feel able to work with me to explore your concerns and therefore I spend time with you initially to develop our working relationship. I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation to help you decide if I am the 'right' counsellor for you.

Through listening to you I aim to personalise your counselling sessions to meet your individual needs. I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space in which to share and explore your concerns, using psychological education and helping you to normalise, understand and manage your experiences. The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) ethical framework is followed.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a degree and a master's in psychology and I am a qualified Gestalt Counsellor. As a gestalt counsellor I work with you in the here and now by focusing upon the ‘what’ and the ‘how’ of your experience. I do not neglect your past or your future, but instead, ask you to consider the impact that your past or future has for you within the present.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
