UKCP Relational Psychotherapeutic Counsellor & Supervisor

About me

Hello, I offer you a warm welcome and hope you will gain insight into how I will be able support you whether you are looking for individual psychotherapeutic counselling or couples/marriage counselling.

You may have noticed that counsellors and therapists all work differently, I work relationally and creatively, bringing together theories from a variety of modalities to fit your needs.  Having a variety of theories enables me to find a way that best 'fits' you.   I have many years of experience working with the impact of childhhod trauma, domestic abuse/violence, anxiety, depression, perinatal mental health, loss and separation.    I have both personal and professional experience of neurodivergence including ADHD.

I believe the key to successful counselling and therapy lies in the relationship between client and therapist.  UKCP describes working relationally as:

"Therapists that have a relational approach would prioritise the way you relate to others and see this is central to understanding yourself."

I work gently, at your pace with compassion and empathy.  I respect and value that all our experiences are unique.   Everyday life can feel stressful, we might feel anxious and depressed.  We may find ourselves wondering about many things, why am I struggling to sleep, I can't swtich off,  why me? what's happening to me? Maybe you have a sense that you want something different for yourself, and maybe you are not yet sure what that might be.  Working relationally and drawing upon different theories, I will support you to find your way.

I believe we all deserve the right to be heard and understood.  I respect and value that all our experiences are unique, and know only too well how difficult it can be to reach out for support.   I offer a safe, welcoming space where we can be together and explore what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from being together.

Please contact me with any questions/querries you might have and we can arrange an initial free phone chat to discuss your difficulties and an opportunity for you to see if you feel comfortable.
