About me
Hello, I am Hatel and I am a Counselling Psychologist. I have been working in both the NHS and the voluntary sector for over 8 years with adults, couples, children and families. I offer evidence-based therapy in a safe and confidential environment.
My approach:
I believe therapy is a process that is collaborative and should be personalised in its approach. I acknowledge that we all look at the world that we live in and our experiences in our own unique way. Therefore in therapy, I hope to draw upon this and empower you to be able to take control and be in a position to make changes to help you move towards your goals. I offer a warm and welcoming therapeutic space, and work from a range of therapeutic models.
I am currently working with adults with a range of difficulties and can offer both face to face and online sessions.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), and can also offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and psychodynamic Therapy. I am also able to work intergratively from a range of models to ensure therapy honours your individuality.
How does Therapy work:
To begin with, I would welcome you to meet with me for an assessment to discuss why you have come to therapy. We can then explore how you would like to use sessions and what your goals for therapy are. This will also give you an opportunity to ask me any questions you may have. As part of this, I will offer recommendations on how we can move forward with sessions, to support you best.
Ongoing sessions: These last 50 minutes and my aim would be to work collaboratively, and to think with you how you can use strategies and tools outside of our sessions.
