About me

I am passionate about healing the root causes which drive low self-esteem, perfectionism and not feeling good enough.

I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor and psychotherapist. I have 12 years experience working in a variety of mental health services.

I specialise in supporting individuals who:
-Are adult children of alcoholic, depressed, borderline or narcissistic parents.
-Have a late diagnosis of ADHD and struggle with neurotypical expectations to fit in and live up to their potential.
-Are high achievers yet never feel good enough no matter how successful they are.
-Experience insecurities and anxieties in friendships or romantic relationships.
-Had critical, demanding or absent parents during childhood.
-Are grieving the end of a relationship or going through a difficult life transition.
-Are in burnout and wish to improve their work/life balance.
-Fear failure and experience perfectionism which hold themselves back in work or relationships.
-Want to break generational cycles and prevent passing trauma down to their children.

I am a compassionate and straight talking therapist who will support you to better understand how early relationships and experiences from childhood have impacted who you are today. I can help you learn to love and accept yourself so you are less dependent on earning it from others through achievement or by being 'good'.

As a relational therapist, I believe that in developing a safe, consistent and secure relationship with me, this will support you to practice different ways of relating which in time, you can then take outside of the therapy room to experience healthier and more fulfilling relationships with others.

If it sounds like you would like to work with me, or would like to find out a bit more; I welcome you to email me to arrange a FREE introductory 20 minute telephone call. This is an opportunity for us to answer any questions you might have and get a sense of whether I am the right therapist for you. There is absolutely no obligation to continue if it does not feel that we are a good fit.

I am currently working online and therefore able to offer sessions to clients from all over the UK and abroad.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Level 7 PGDip Counselling & Psychotherapy - University of Leeds
  • BSc Psychology - Nottingham Trent University
  • Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills

I am committed to regularly updating my skills and knowledge. I engage in continuing professional development through reading, research and additional training. I am also passionate about engaging in my own personal therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
