About me

Experienced therapist with an international upbringing, working in private practice with couples and individuals on Harley Street and in Cambridgeshire, as well as internationalIy online. I also offer intensive, extended therapy sessions for couples, families, groups and individuals in crisis. For details of this, please book an initial session where we can discuss.

My aim is to provide high quality individually tailored therapy to all of my clients. I specialize in working with complex trauma, childhood wounds and relationships.

During my career, I have been fortunate to gain a wealth of experience supporting people of all ages and from various walks of life through their difficult times. Working online as well as in person has made it possible for people from all over the world to reach out to me including people who's work means they are often away from home.

People tend to find their way to working with me when they are in crisis, when they’ve hit a wall of some sort or when they feel disconnected as a couple. I have supported my clients through suicidal periods, complex PTSD, big life transitions, affairs, changes in their relationships, BPD, sexual abuse, narcissistic abuse, anxiety and other acute or ongoing situations.

Some people need a therapist to be with them through current life events, others want to work through past life events, some need a long term therapist to be their constant in a complex and chaotic work, life or mental health situation. Some others just want one or two sessions to vent or seek clarity on a specific issue that's been niggling at them. I offer both long and short-term therapy to suit individual needs, as well as ESA assessment and letter writing services. I welcome anyone to make initial contact with me.

I have often been told that I make therapy an enjoyable, empowering and insightful experience for my clients. I place a lot of emphasis on getting to know my clients and giving them space and the time they need to explore, be silent, express and most of all, to be heard. In my work with couples, I help guide them in to a conscious, intentional relationship. One where all their needs can be met if they commit to doing the work. Working with family members, I help them gain an awareness of the dynamics between them and together we work towards tolerance, being heard and listening to each other. I use the Imago relationship therapy model in all of my couples and families work. I find it to yield the most successful outcomes for my clients. It creates a feeling of safety, predictability and mutual understanding and healing. For more information on Imago therapy, book a first session with me and I will send you an introduction contract to help you prepare and know what to expect.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
