I am a professional and friendly therapist who is passionate about helping clients find solutions to their problems, enabling them to move forward with their lives.

I am very experienced and highly qualified and I work with clients in a welcoming and supportive environment, integrating a range of therapeutic approaches to maximise change.

My Masters Degree in Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and experience in this field supports my approach of working dynamically with clients to achieve results.  In addition, my experience and Masters Degree in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) also enable me to work with clients to achieve powerful change.

Background/Experience

I have over 25 years' experience of helping clients to resolve a wide range of issues including stress, depression, anxiety, anger, trauma and relationship issues.  I also assist clients with coping strategies, coming to terms with events in their lives and challenging negative unhelpful thoughts, feelings and behaviour. Please see below for a full range of the issues that I can help with.

I am a Senior Accredited and Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and an Accredited Clinical Supervisor.  My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Person Centred and Psychodynamic approaches.

In addition, I utilise Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and teach Mindfulness Meditation.

I work with individuals, couples, employers, Employee Assistance Programs (EAPS) and insurance companies and provide both short and long term therapy to clients, according to their needs.

I also provide Clinical Supervision to counsellors to help support and develop their work with clients.

BABCP
British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
