About me

Sometimes we feel stuck in our lives, struggling with anxiety, depression, bereavement or with negative experiences, thoughts and emotions. Perhaps we feel unable to talk freely or fully with friends or family, fearing being judged, or a burden.

There are times when we feel the need for a separate, safe space where we may be heard without fear or judgement, to untangle whatever is blocking us.

I offer this safe, friendly space alongside empathy, respect and confidentiality. Feeling heard and understood is the beginning of connecting with how to move forward beyond whatever is blocking you.

I trained as an integrative counsellor which means that I offer a variety of approaches based on what works for you: a non-judgmental, empathic ear, or unflinching support to explore difficult experiences and trauma, or perhaps the opportunity to practise new ways of thinking and dealing with negative behaviours.

Fundamentally, I believe that you are the expert in your own life. I offer tailored support, understanding, reflection and gentle challenge so that you are empowered to find your own path forward. Clients receive a warm, friendly welcome, empathy and complete confidentiality.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified professional counsellor and an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society.

  • Level 5 Diploma in Professional Counselling (Distinction) Thoros.
  • BA Hons Roehampton University and PGCE.

My background is in education, having taught in secondary and primary schools for 30 years, including pastoral roles.

I have previously offered counselling at Lighthouse 43 in Cheriton and at New Romney Counselling Service.
