About me
Hello and welcome. Are you feeling overwhelmed or hopeless; wanting to face things that have been troubling you for some time or ignoring. You may be experiencing relationship problems or navigating a change in circumstances that are difficult to manage emotionally or perhaps you just want to have space to offload and get past difficulties that have happened - then I am here to help you.
Taking the first step can sometimes feel quite daunting as life can be a challenge at times and whatever has brought you to my page I would like to welcome you here.
I am an integrative counsellor working with adults (18 and over). You may feel overwhelmed or like you just can’t take 'one more thing'; are finding it hard to trust yourself and others; feeling anxious and/or depressed due to past traumas, current or past relationship issues or are suffering work related stress and finding it hard to cope with bad and consuming thoughts and feelings.
My philosophy is to provide a warm, compassionate, down to earth space in order that we build a relationship that focuses on you and what you need. I use a few different counselling approaches and simple techniques which I am also able to adapt depending on what you bring to each session.
I have been practicing as a counsellor for several years and regularly support people with "everyday" troubles as well as those living with mental health difficulties. I regularly work with issues around anxiety and depression, health, divorce and separation; relationships and relationship problems, emotional difficulties, stress and behavioural problems, trauma and childhood trauma, loss and bereavement, self esteem and workplace stress. I also work with individuals who are childless not by choice or by circumstance as this an area of specific interest for me. I have completed the BICA (British Infertility Counselling Association) Foundation course and regularly update my training through continuing professional development.
Together we can increase your self awareness and work towards effecting positive changes and contentment in your life.
How Counselling works
Counselling is a safe place for you to talk openly about what is troubling you and the subsequent emotions and feelings in order that you feel both seen and heard. Counselling also enables you to speak freely without judgement and to be heard with empathy and compassion.
We may agree some goals at the beginning and this will be regularly reviewed to ensure we are on the right path. I also like to give you something to reflect on that you can take away from each session.
I am an integrative counsellor and therefore I am trained and experienced in using a variety of different counselling theories and techniques, including transactional analysis; gestalt; psychodynamic and person centred approaches. I am also very relational in the way I work. This allows me to work with different modalities although I can work flexibly and will be guided by you as I understand we are all unique and experience life differently and through a different lens. I may also offer simple tools and techniques in order to help you manage and to help you build some inner resources.
The therapeutic relationship is so important to the success of therapy and therefore I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation to discuss what you are looking for and to ensure you feel comfortable and at ease to work with me.
If you would like to enquire about having a counselling session with me, please do get in touch by email or on 07549 264908. I currently offer limited face to face sessions and also work online via Zoom or by telephone but find these ways of working are usually just as effective as working in-person.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
