About me
Hello and a warm welcome to my page.
Life can be complex and challenging at times, however I believe counselling can be transformative and supportive in your well-being. Whether you are experiencing difficulties in your life such as anxiety, low mood, grief or relational conflict, these are some of the ways in which I may be able to offer support.
Our emotions provide us with valuable information and having a space to feel heard in a non-judgmental environment may support you in observing your challenges from an alternative perspective.
I feel the therapeutic relationship and being present with my client provides a space to be listened to and is at the heart of my practice. Offering a calm and compassionate space where you are welcome to talk through difficult and painful experiences , thoughts and feelings. Wherever you are in your life I feel you have the autonomy to move in the direction which feels right for you.
My approach to counselling values working alongside you and the sessions are adaptive to the uniqueness of the person I am working with. Encouraging self-awareness, self-development and seeking to support you in recognising your strengths, creatively and choices in life. A space for reflection and pause before you act upon your feelings.
As well as working with children from ages eleven onwards I also have extensive experience in working with adults up to and beyond retirement age with a wide range of issues, challenges and behaviours.
I offer Counselling and Clinical Supervision face to face , online or via telephone from my private counselling room, based in Potton Bedfordshire.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

First session details :
I feel it is very important you find the right counsellor for you. I offer a complimentary thirty minute consultation online or via telephone. This is a relaxed and informal conversation where you may share what has brought you to seek counselling and what you may be looking to gain from our sessions. This also offers a space to see if we are a good fit and answer any questions you may have.
There is no obligation to continue with the sessions after this time.
Should you wish to work together I would then email a copy of our working agreement for your consideration. Following up with a mutually agreed regular time and date to commence our journey of work together.
