About me

Welcome to my profile. I am a Counselling Psychologist (B.Sc, CPsychol) who has practised with children, young people, adults and families, in both the NHS and in the private sector. I provide assessment and psychological therapy, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), for mild and moderate emotional or mental health difficulties via telephone or online video.

I know from first-hand experience that starting therapy can be a hugely daunting and overwhelming experience for some. You have taken the first step in seeking out support, and know that often that can be everything but easy.  Any queries or questions you have about the process, we can explore during a free 15 minute telephone consultation to ensure that I am the right person to support you on your journey.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Counselling Psychologist (B.Sc, CPsychol) with the British Psychological Society (BPS), and am registered with the The Health & Care Professionals (HCPC).  I completed my BSC Psychology at the University of Birmingham, and then went on to obtain my Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at City, University of London.

I have worked across outpatient, community and University settings, with adults, children and young people, couples and groups. I have a particular interest in working with people who struggle to manage their emotions, anxiety and mood disorders, interpersonal difficulties and stress. I have experience in providing assessments and evidence based psychological interventions for clients with neurodevelopmental difficulties, such as Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder and Autism Spectrum disorder.

Alongside private practice, I currently also work in a community CAMHs team, offering short-term evidence-based treatments to children and young people, also working with the families and schools around the child. My role also involves supervising junior members of staff as well a regular case consultations.

I specialise in delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Systemic Therapy. I also have training in person-centred therapy and Mindfulness-based approaches. I have run Mindfulness groups in both an in-patient and University setting. In line with these approaches, I am passionate about helping people to find ways of managing their experiences which enables them to feel more able to cope with their everyday challenges and feel connected to their sense of self. My practice is informed by the most recent evidence-based guidelines devised by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

I offer a collaborative and compassionate approach, putting the goals and needs of the client at the forefront of every session.
