About me

Hello there,

so glad you found me hiding amongst all these other therapists!

I know it can be difficult to find a therapist who you feel connected to, someone who you can open up to.  That is why I offer a free consultation session.

This consultation gives you a chance to get a feel for how I work as a therapist. In this consultation we can look at what’s going on for you and figure out how you can move forward. You can also use this time to ask me any questions about therapy that you may have.

You can book a free consultation on my website

Before you book, let me tell you a bit more about how I work. I don’t use a ‘blank slate’ approach in which I sit in silence, or nod along repeating what you have said. Rather I engage with you, sharing my thoughts and insights. I will laugh with you when life is funny and I’ll be here for you when it gets you down. I don’t consider myself the expert on your life, I collaborate with you so that we can figure out your best path together.

I am devoted to your process of healing, and don’t apply a ‘one-size-fits all’ approach. Rather I want to get on the same page as you and work with you as an individual. I use an eclectic approach to therapy relying predominantly on my training in Narrative Therapy; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy. This means that I will use the therapeutic approach that I feel will best assist you.

This kind of therapeutic relationship can be rare to find, and powerful to experience. Clients have said that they feel truly heard and understood by me, and because of this they’ve learned more about themselves and their capabilities.

I often work with people struggling with the following difficulties: stress and anxiety; generalised anxiety disorder; low self-esteem; body image; couples counselling; family issues; work related stress; bereavement and depression. Of course my skills are not limited to these areas.

Get in touch to book a free consultation and we can talk about whatever's happening with you and whether I can help.
