About me

If you are reading this, it may be that you are experiencing a difficult time and seeking support to help you work through the challenges you are facing. I hope my profile provides you with some insight about what you can expect from counselling, but please feel free to call me if you would prefer to talk on the phone. I offer a free initial 20-minute consultation by phone because I appreciate how important it is that you feel comfortable with your therapist.

Whether you are looking to book your first therapy session, or you are returning to therapy after a break, I will provide a non-judgemental space where you can explore what's going on for you. Perhaps you are feeling stuck, or struggling with anxiety or depression. We live in uncertain times, with many experiencing bereavement and other trauma. The sense of overwhelm that accompanies these challenges can cause low self esteem or low confidence, which may impact our relationships, leading to family issues, and challenges in other relationships. I can support you in exploring your feelings associated with these and other challenges that life brings. Gaining insight can often be the catalyst to change, and change can enable us to become unstuck.

My therapeutic approach

As an Integrative Counsellor, I draw from different approaches to tailor my support to meet your unique needs. Regardless of your reason for coming to therapy, I put you at the centre of our work together and support you in whatever you want to talk about. We will explore your experiences, needs and frustrations, from your perspective.

Why the therapeutic relationship is unique

It is likely you will find the therapeutic relationship a very different experience to other relationships in your life, and this is often how change can happen. Our work together will provide you with a new perspective, and strategies and tools you can implement in daily life to help you feel more resilient, regardless of what life throws at you. This can be incredibly freeing - even life changing.

Areas in which I provide support include:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • ADHD
  • Low self-esteem
  • Family issues
  • Trauma
  • Bereavement
  • Low self-confidence
  • Stress

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
