About me
Hello, my name is Dr Divya Patel, I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, registered with HCPC, I have 10 years of experience working with individuals experiencing a range of mental health difficulties in both the NHS, school setting and charity sectors.
If you are noticing something is not quite right; you feel low, anxious, stressed, overwhelmed and unhappy. Or struggling with unhealthy patterns that are problematic or having issues with traumatic events? You have done a brave thing by looking for support. We all need support at times, as life can be often complicated, painful and challenging. Perhaps you need some space to think about these difficulties and how they impact your wellbeing?
My aim is to offer a warm confidential space where you feel heard, understood and supported. The importance being developing a strong therapeutic relationship with you. For therapy to give you a better psychological understanding of yourself, your life and have you feeling better equipped with tools and strategies to help you to cope and reduce your distress.
I have experience of working with adults with anxiety, depression, PTSD, childhood trauma, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, difficulties managing emotions and unhealthy life patterns. I offer a range of evidenced based therapies such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema-Informed Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy, Mindfulness and Trauma Focused Therapy.
If you wish to contact me, we can arrange an initial telephone call to discuss your reason for seeking therapy and the best approach for you.
