About me
I am a qualified integrative therapist, supervisor, and registered MNCPS (Acc.) based in Barnsley/Sheffield. I work face-to-face and online with individuals, and currently hold a full enhanced DBS check. I also work as a HE teaching associate at a local college, supporting the delivery of the L4 Therapeutic Diploma in Counselling.
A naturally relaxed, warm, and reflective individual, I aim to provide non-judgemental, encouraging support, and to assist in exploring and moving forward with issues causing you difficulty.
I use an integrative approach that is predominantly relational and person-centred, and that draws from a range of theories, specialist skills, knowledge, and techniques, in an effort to be as flexible as possible to the needs of each particular individual, and which is expressed in a distinctly empathic, genuine, non-directive way of working.
I have worked as a counsellor for organisations within the charity sector, including Pathways Family Support, Sheffield Carers Centre, and Humankind Umbrella Early Intervention & Prevention Service, and I currently work as affiliate with Employee Assistance Programme's (EAP) along side working privately.
I have worked with clients experiencing issues including anxiety, depression, domestic abuse/violence, physical abuse, relationship issues, separation/divorce, trauma, anger, bereavement/grief and loss, bullying, stress and work-related stress, burnout, carer support, low self-confidence/self-esteem, health related issues and chronic illness, loneliness, life transitions, student counsellors in training.
There are many reasons why a person may seek counselling/therapy. In my experience, both personally and as a practitioner, I understand it isn’t always easy to take the first step or find the right therapist for your needs, so feel free to get in touch for an informal conversation where we can discuss any questions you may have, if counselling might be helpful for you, and to decide if we feel we can work together.

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society
This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations.
In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
