About me

The last two years have brought so many unexpected challenges that still linger and whilst we start to see the light at the end of the tunnel, sometimes being in the tunnel still seems dark and unrelenting. Relationships are harder, your sleep is worse, you miss loved ones and you can feel the usual winter sadness far more acutely this time round. On top of all you’ve managed there may now be fears about what is to come. You may be worrying about financial concerns, family issues or dealing with your own anxiety and low moods day after day.

2022 can be your year to change, to make lasting improvements for your life. You can find a time and space, either in person or via the phone or screen, to explore what’s going on for you and to find your own path forward; maybe feeling lighter and calmer for brighter days to come.

Counselling is more than just talking, it’s more than just exploring your feelings. Counselling is about the relationship. A relationship which is built on a foundation of the right conditions, with the right person. That’s what is on offer, the right conditions and the right person; which will lead us to build a strong therapeutic foundation on which to build our work together- to build ideas and explore feelings in a secure, constructive way.

Being a male counsellor, the offer is perhaps a different one. A different way to express, share and deal with what comes up. I tend not to shy away but go with you, facing whatever comes up without fear.

Area's of specialism include depression, anxiety, stress, disability, autism and neuro-diversity, being male, suicide- ideation and survival.

I only work with adults aged 20 and over.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
