About me

Do you want to speak and be heard – really heard? Are you struggling with stress & anxiety or perhaps panic? Maybe you’ve lost a loved one, are experiencing work/academic pressures or are struggling in your relationships? Whatever it is that you are struggling with, know you are not alone – support is available.

I am an Integrative Therapist with experience working with clients who are struggling with a wide range of issues. Therapy is not a one size fits all approach – what works for one may not work for another. I use my knowledge of different theoretical backgrounds to respectfully approach each client as an individual with a unique set of world experiences, and to work in a way that feels relevant for that specific person.

Respect, empathy, compassion and warmth are the foundations on which my practice are built.

Reaching out for support can be daunting – I am here to ensure you feel supported and comfortable whilst working through your struggles. I firmly believe that you are in the drivers seat, we can go as fast or as slow as is comfortable for you and if at any time you wish to change direction – know that this is okay too. I am here to support you and gently guide you if you waver.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and am currently working towards a Masters qualification.

I have experience working with clients from a mixture of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds and have been working with university students for the past 15 months.

I am particularly interested in Canine Assisted Therapy and am undertaking a masters level research dissertation on this topic.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
