Asking for help is the biggest and the most important step so - Well done! You are on the right path.

Training, qualifications & experience

How does it work...

I am a professional counsellor trained to work using an integrative approach. This means that I will use a few different approaches in our therapy sessions. I usually tailor my method of work around my client’s needs and preferences. I use a combination of CBT, Person Cantered and Psychodynamic approaches as well as meditation and therapeutic writing. In my sessions I will offer you some time and place to concentrate on yourself and your needs, to reflect, heal and build your confidence and motivation. We might do some inner child work, explore your defence mechanisms and traumas from the past.
Experiencing a traumatic loss myself as a child I am particularly drawn to supporting clients through bereavement as I know how difficult it can be to lose a loved one. I also specialise in working with teenagers and helping them not just to survive their mental health issues but teaching them the tools and characteristics they need in life to be able to thrive! I love to inspire big change in my clients’ life.

Because of my background in childcare and education I am also very passionate in working with parents and giving them information and advice on how they can help their children.

I work with my clients with a great deal of honesty and believe that the relationship between us is one of the most important aspects of therapy. I will not just listen to your problems but give you my observations and reflections and will guide you through the process of healing and finding your true self.

I am Bulgarian and I offer counselling in Bulgarian and Macedonian as well as English.

Nobody ever got better from a mental health issue by not talking about it. When life gets too difficult don’t try and fight alone. Lets talk!

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in line with their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. This promotes good practice and underpins the safety of clients.

Before I became a counsellor I worked in the childcare and education sector. On the side of my private practice I work as part of the bereavement team in St. Christopher’s Hospice.

I know that it can be a bit scary at first to approach a counsellor if you haven’t done it before but there is nothing to worry about. Our first session will be for you to ask any questions you might have, for us to get to know each other and to see if we might like to work together.
