About me

 MY APPROACH

I am a BACP registered counsellor, with a BA (Hons) degree in person-centred, existential counselling. Through additional training, I have developed an integrative approach, which means the support I offer integrates a range of modalities and techniques, specifically tailored to the individual needs of my clients.

I strive to provide a relational space in which you feel prized and understood, without judgment. It is within this unique relationship that we can work together to address the issues and concerns

THERAPEUTIC ENVIRONMENT

The Therapy Cabin
I practice from a purpose-built cabin situated in a private garden (see photos below). This provides a comfortable, warm, secluded environment within which we can focus solely on you and your therapeutic needs.

The cabin is a 10-minute walk from Brentwood station, and for those driving there is off-road parking.

Please note that I also provide online and telephone sessions

Individual Therapy

£60 per session

We all have a unique experience of life, an experience that consists of situations and events that sometimes leave us overwhelmed and isolated. Feelings such as anxiety, depression, anger, loneliness, and hopelessness can leave us feeling lost and unsure of our purpose and worth, disconnected from our authentic selves, and therefore others.

Therapy can be described as a journey of exploration, one that illuminates what it means to be you. It awards an opportunity to nurture and nourish the relationship you have with yourself (in my experience, the most overlooked and neglected relationship).  What is more, the process of self-nurturing and self-development can often lead to positive changes within the relationships you have with others.

Couples Therapy

£75 per session

Couples accessing therapy often do so when feelings of connection,  companionship, and trust have been replaced with disconnection, uncertainty, insecurity, isolation, and anger. Reasons for this may include infidelity, conflicting wants and needs, financial stress, breakdowns in communication, and significant life changes.

I offer a supportive space within which you and your partner can work together to identify, explore, and address your issues and concerns. Through the development of effective communication skills, you can both begin to express your thoughts and feelings whilst feeling heard and understood by the other.  Thus, awarding an opportunity for you both to move forward toward a more fulfilling future.

If you believe I can provide the support you are seeking, whether it be for yourself as an individual or for your relationship as a couple, please do not hesitate to contact me, I look forward to speaking with you.  If I am not the therapist for you, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the best in finding the therapeutic support you are seeking.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

The First Session:
I appreciate how daunting the first session can be, so I aim to make the experience both welcoming and comfortable. I encourage you to bring any questions or concerns you may have regarding myself, my practice, or the therapeutic process as a whole.

Our first session will involve exploring what brought you to therapy, and what you hope to gain from our sessions. It will be an opportunity to get to know each other a little, before deciding whether we can work together towards achieving any desired outcomes or goals you may have. If we agree to commence therapy, this will be the time for us to negotiate a suitable day, time, and frequency of subsequent sessions.
