About me

Hello my name is Cindy Afflick I trained as an integrative Intercultural Counsellor.  Since qualification in 2006 I have developed a wealth of knowledge and experience in various therapeutic environments, for example, GP surgeries, Victim Support Agency and Mainstream Secondary Schools.   I have also established my own private practice in south London.

I work with a diverse range of client and with a broad range of issues.  I use different therapeutic techniques and tools to explore topics expressed and experienced by my clients.

Every person is unique, regardless of age, gender, religious, racial, sexual, disability, identity, cultural or social background. There are a range of themes and complexities that can be explored in sessions.  I tailor my work to suit the situation and circumstances of the client.

Getting Started

The first step clients can take is to send me an email or telephone (details below) to arrange a initial assessment session.  This would be a time where clients can ask questions and talk about what problem they would like to explore.  The assessment session also gives clients a chance to voice any concerns and see if they want to work with me.   If clients feel happy to continue we can then arrange a second session to meet on a weekly bases.

We all have obstacles that we need to deal with but we don’t allow our selves the time to step back and address.   Whether the problem stems from our past or our present day experiences it is important to be in a safe environment my role is to create a safe environment for the client to explore their issues.

How can I help?

In our time together I facilitate and support the client’s wellbeing in a mindful way. I provide a friendly and warm space for the dialog clients want to have with me.  Whether the need is to just process their issues, gain clarity or find solutions, I help assist clients to construct techniques to meet their challenges.

A little more about me

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
