About me
Making the decision to come for counselling can be daunting. You might be uncertain about whether counselling can help but if you are finding life difficult or even overwhelming, I can almost certainly help you to move forward and reach a 'better place'.
I am an experienced counsellor who works with people experiencing a wide range of difficulties. I trained in an integrative approach to counselling which means that I have more than one type of theoretical approach to draw on. This means that I can tailor my approach to suit each individual client. It is not a case of "one size fits all". After all, no two people are the same and this way of working means that I can use a mix of different approaches to best suit each individual.
There are many reasons why someone may come for counselling. Some of the common reasons are listed below:
- Experiencing low mood, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem or anger.
- Going through a significant change in your life and experiencing feelings of loss, grief, confusion or fear.
- Day to day life may have become difficult and overwhelming.
- Struggling to find ways of coping with your feelings in a healthy way and therefore may be using self-harm, disordered eating patterns, alcohol or other unhealthy ways of coping.
- Suffered from abuse (physical, emotional, or sexual) or been indirectly affected.
Don't worry if you do not fit into any of the above categories as reasons for people coming for counselling are as wide and varied as people themselves. Whatever circumstance you find yourself in, my aim is to help you make sense of it and move forward with renewed purpose in your life. I provide a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space where healing and change can take place. Just call or email me and I will arrange to see you as soon as I can.
Training, qualifications & experience

I also work part-time for a charity that counsels victims of sexual abuse.
