About me

I am an HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist and founder of Crystal Goals, with extensive experience supporting children, adolescents and adults through a wide range of emotional, psychological and life difficulties.

You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood or depression, trauma or PTSD, stress, burnout, low self-esteem or confidence, relationship difficulties, overwhelming emotions, or simply feeling stuck and unsure how to move forward. I also work with people whose difficulties feel more complex, including longstanding patterns of behaviour, emotional regulation difficulties, attachment and relationship difficulties, neurodiversity, and the impact of difficult or traumatic life experiences.

My approach is warm, supportive and non-judgemental. Therapy does not have to feel overly clinical or intimidating. I take time to understand you as an individual – what has happened, what may be keeping difficulties going, and what you would like to change. Clients often tell me that they feel comfortable and understood quickly, and that the therapeutic process feels more natural and less daunting than they expected.

Drawing on a range of evidence-based psychological approaches, I tailor therapy around your individual needs rather than expecting you to fit into one particular model.

Whether you are experiencing a specific mental health difficulty, coping with a difficult period in your life, or simply recognise that something needs to change, therapy can provide a safe space to understand yourself, develop new ways of coping and begin moving forward with greater clarity and confidence. Training, qualifications & experience

I am an HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist with over 20 years’ experience working across psychological, therapeutic, forensic, community and specialist services. My core qualifications include a BA (Hons) in Psychology and an MSc in Forensic & Legal Psychology. I have also completed extensive postgraduate and specialist training in CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, Schema Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, systemic and family approaches, developmental trauma, attachment, neurodevelopment, supervision and therapeutic work with children, adolescents and adults. I have completed EMDR training Parts 1, 2 and 3 and have used EMDR therapeutically throughout my career, alongside other evidence-based psychological approaches.

My experience includes working with anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, burnout, emotional regulation difficulties, attachment difficulties, relationship problems, neurodiversity, complex behaviour and the psychological impact of adverse life experiences.

I have worked across private practice, local authority services and currently work through Crystal Goals.

Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Further information

I am a firm believer that, for therapy to be helpful, you need to feel safe, comfortable and at ease with the person you are working with. Therapy should feel collaborative, supportive and human — not intimidating or overly clinical.

I have been very fortunate to receive some lovely feedback from individuals and families I have worked with, many of whom describe feeling understood, comfortable and able to engage more easily than they expected.

If you would like to get a feel for how I work, you are welcome to read client feedback and testimonials on http://crystalgoals.com, as well as our Google Reviews for Crystal Goals.
