About me

What I offer

I like to say I offer a 'winning mix' of blended therapies. I use counselling skills and my 'counsellors ear' to really listen to your current struggles and blockages; and I couple this with solution focused brief therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and coaching strategies to help move you forward.

Identifying the root of where your issues come from can be really beneficial and I support all my clients, in a safe environment, to understand this about themselves.  We will also work on new coping strategies that work for you as an individual.

What happens first?

Our first session is all about establishing if we are able to 'connect' and work together - after all, if you don't have a counsellor you can trust and open up to, it can be detrimental to the counselling process! During this session, we can talk about the issues you are facing and what you would like help with' and, together, we will discuss how therapy can help you.

How can therapy help me?

Counselling allows you to explore your innermost feelings in a non judgemental space; where you can be truly honest with yourself. This truth helps guide the therapeutic process.

Some clients feel, either during the counselling process or at the end, that they would like to explore some strategies to help propel them forward in their personal development, and this is where Solution Focused Therapy and Coaching plays a part. With over 10 years of experience as a Life Coach, I can help with tools to help you move forward. These tools are particularly useful for those clients suffering with anxiety and depression or from low self-esteem, low self-worth and lack of confidence.

The way I work with clients is totally guided by you as an individual, so please visit my website and get in touch to book your first session.

Training, qualifications & experience

Besides the following qualifications, I have volunteered at a counselling charity helping people with a wide range of issues, from bereavement, isolation due to COVID-19, anxiety and depression among many others. Alongside my private practice I also work with an Employee Assistance Programme providing psychotherapy services.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
