What I offer
I offer a hybrid approach to therapy; by using a person-centred approach to counselling, the roots of which lie in empathy, a non-judgemental attitude and acceptance. I am able to couple this with some more directive coaching work to propel you forward if this is something that interests you.
What happens first?
All my clients are offered an initial telephone consultation to establish if we are able to 'connect' and work together - after all, if you don't have a counsellor you can trust and open up to, it can be detrimental to the counselling process! During this session, we can talk about the issues you are facing and what you would like help with' and, together, we will discuss how counselling can help you.
How can counselling help me?
Person-centred counselling allows you to set the pace and to take the lead in our sessions, and I am there to offer a non-judgemental space in which you are free to explore your innermost feelings; as well as guide the therapeutic process.
Some clients feel, either during the counselling process or at the end, that they would like to explore some strategies to help propel them forward in their personal development, and this is where Life Coaching plays a part. With over 10 years of experience as a Life Coach, I can help with tools to help you move forward. These tools are particularly useful for those clients suffering from low self-esteem, low self-worth and lack of confidence.
The way I work with clients, is totally guided by you the client, so please visit my website and get in touch for your initial consultation with me.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
