About me

I specialise in Trauma  and Life Counselling

So what does Trauma mean in relation to counselling?

Trauma is our body's response to a significantly stressful or distressing event, which can completely take over our ability to cope in "life situations."

Having counselling can normalise the experience of trauma and by giving a name to the "enemy" it can help you build coping strategies.

I work with men, women and young people and I can also offer Life Counselling if change and direction is needed.

I offer a safe place which is yours for 50 minutes each week to talk confidentially about whatever you want. Sometimes we need to be heard and to have someone who is non-judgemental, listens, is empathetic and kind.

This is what I can do for you.

I can be there just for you, to listen and to challenge you. You will have an independent person on your team. No fuss, no doubting just 100% support for you.

I work from bright and beautiful counselling rooms in St Albans where I can offer face to face counselling, or if you are further afield or internationally based then I can offer video counselling.

Training, qualifications & experience

Everyone is unique, and I have counselled some amazing people who have survived domestic, sexual and childhood abuse, narcissistic relationships, controlling partnerships, anxiety, low self-esteem and depression.

I have worked with clients who have suffered the  loss of a significant person in their life either from death or illness or the loss of a friendship, marriage, business, home or employment. Trauma covers everything which has reshaped your life and rocked your foundation.

I have volunteered as a counsellor at Future Living a Domestic Abuse Charity and HARSAC Herts Area Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre

I am an NCPS Accredited Counsellor and a member of the BACP.

My style of counselling is mainly talking therapy and life coaching. I incorporate a number of different styles depending on what is being brought into the room.

Additional information

I am flexible on time scales as this is for you. If weekly/fortnightly/monthly sessions are best then I can work with that. Importantly the 50 minutes will be your time that can be your safe place to feel heard.

I offer a free 15 minute consultation call on video or phone to get an understanding of what is bringing you to counselling. All you need to do is email or call and I will book in a 15 minute appointment slot which is convenient for you. If you call and I don't pick up please leave a message I will get back to you.

You are under no obligation to appoint me as your counsellor but if you are comfortable to proceed we will book in the first session. For future sessions you are able to book and pay online, the process is very simple.
