About me

I specialise in Trauma, Couples Counselling and Life Coaching.

So what does Trauma mean in relation to counselling?

Trauma is our body's response to a significantly stressful or distressing event, which can completely take over our ability to cope in "life situations."  This can cause anxiety, depression, shame, guilt or any other number of emotions that hinder our ability to live life fully.

Counselling can empower you to understand and name the challenges you've faced. By acknowledging and addressing the source of your trauma, you can build resilience and develop effective coping skills.

I work with individuals and young people and I also offer Life Coaching if change and direction is needed.

I offer a safe place which is yours for 50 minutes each session to talk confidentially about whatever you want. Sometimes we need to be heard and to have someone who is non-judgemental, listens, is empathetic and kind.

"Couples Counselling: When to Seek Help

Couples Counselling sessions are typically one hour in duration.

Is it time for Couples Counselling?

Recognising when your relationship needs professional support can be difficult. Here are some signs that couples counselling might be beneficial:

Communication Breakdown: Do you find yourselves talking over each other, or not listening effectively?
Constant Irritability: Does everything your partner says or does seem to annoy you?
Diminished Intimacy: Has physical intimacy decreased or ceased altogether?
Differing Life Goals: Are you and your partner on different paths regarding your future?
Infidelity or Emotional Distance: Are you or your partner seeking attention or emotional connection elsewhere?
Feeling of Stagnation: Do you often find yourselves asking, "Is this it?"
External Pressures: Are family or outside influences creating significant conflict in your relationship?
These are just a few of the issues couples bring to therapy. Many relationship challenges CAN be overcome with the right support.

Quick & Effective Couples Counselling

I understand that couples often have limited time and resources. That's why I offer concise and effective couples counselling programs designed to deliver results quickly.

Free 15-Minute Consultation

Schedule a free 15-minute online consultation to learn more about my approach and ask any questions you may have before committing to therapy.

I'm here to help you navigate the complexities of your relationship and find a path towards healing and lasting connection."

  • So many problems can happen in a relationship and so many CAN be resolved.

This is what I can do for you.

I can be there just for you, to listen and to challenge you. You will have an independent person on your team. No fuss, no doubting just 100% support for you.

I work from a bright and quirky counselling room in St Albans where I can offer face to face counselling, or if you are further afield or internationally based then I can offer video counselling.

Training, qualifications & experience

Everyone is unique, and I have counselled some amazing people who have survived domestic, sexual and childhood abuse, narcissistic relationships, controlling partnerships, anxiety, low self-esteem and depression.

I have worked with clients who have suffered the  loss of a significant person in their life either from death or illness or the loss of a friendship, marriage, business, home or employment. Trauma covers everything which has reshaped your life and rocked your foundation.

I have volunteered as a counsellor at Future Living a Domestic Abuse Charity and HARSAC Herts Area Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre

I am an NCPS Accredited Counsellor and a member of the BACP.

My style of counselling is mainly talking therapy and life coaching. I incorporate a number of different styles depending on what is being brought into the room.

New for 2025 is my four night Mental and Emotional Wellness Retreat being held in the beautiful Tuscan countryside. www.mindfulescapes.co.uk

There is also a Couples Wellness Retreat planned for November 2025. For more information on the venue please see the website above. If you are interested in either retreat please call me for more information.
