About me

I offer face to face counselling sessions in a safe environment, with appropriate Covid safety measures in place in a ground floor location with parking facilities nearby.

Hi I'm Carole, thanks for checking out my profile.  I have always been interested in people and what makes us who we are, and how life events can affect us.  I understand that life has many challenges for us all.    At times we can find ourselves in a difficult place with thoughts and feelings which we find frustrating and difficult to understand.  The feeling of being trapped and out of control can have adverse effects on your quality of life.

As an integrative counsellor, I adapt my practice to meet your individual needs, ensuring that you feel heard and understood allowing us to explore how repetitive cycles of thoughts, feelings and relationships can hold you back.  I provide a safe, warm and non judgemental space where we can work together at a suitable pace for you enabling you to explore what's happening in your life,  gradually developing new perspectives, coping skills and new ways of being so that you can manage your situation more effectively, leading to an improvement in your quality of life.

I offer both short term and long term counselling sessions.

As it is important that you feel comfortable in your sessions, I offer a free initial assessment session to allow us to meet and decide if you would like to go ahead and book more sessions.  If you feel you would like to book a free face to face or phone session, please feel free to contact me by phone, text or email and I will be in touch with you as soon as possible.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
