About me

Our life’s journey is a mythical adventure; its many challenges present obstacles in the way to finding our purpose and fulfillment. At times, these challenges take on dimensions we cannot cope with without a listening companion, who shares our exploration into our very personal ‘rabbit holes’: Who am I - and why do I encounter these unbearable difficulties?

Our deepest goals, our fulfillment and purpose, seem to drown under anxieties, unresolved trauma, depression, lack of self esteem and maybe a continuous stream of negative self talk. How on earth can we reach peace, contentment, good relationships with others and ourselves? Often, these obstacles to peace are due to dramatic and unhealthy circumstances which mar our perception for decades to come. We feel totally overwhelmed.

However, when you finally reach out, you open up to new perspectives; you meet with a person whose deep listening and empathy awakens your own self appreciation. Eventually you let go of the old narrative, the blinkers come off; you can breathe again and feel the optimism and motivation which puts colour and sparkle back into your life.

I am trained in person-centred counselling. I will accompany you in your journey of self discovery with empathy and honesty, but will not direct you. I will challenge you at times and try to shed light onto areas you may have tried to avoid. As we often tend to be too much in our heads, I may suggest a more somatic technique such as EMDR which helps with integrating disturbing events. For those who are drawn to it I offer to take a more spiritual and holistic view of their lives through dream work or visualisation; last, not least, as I am also a painter and used to be a journalist, I am very open to creative expression and exploration.

I have adult children, used to be in a 40 year long relationship and live in a small intentional community for 30 years. As I also work as a decorator, I appreciate hands on practicality and the importance of a beautiful home which reflects who we are and where we can relax.
