About me

Seeking therapy for the first time can be a daunting experience. Sometimes, when you feel lost, are in crisis or feel stuck at a crossroads, it is difficult to know what to do or which way to turn. You may have experienced trauma, tragedy, or loss. Your body and life feeling unsettled.

As a qualified Integrative counsellor, I instill a genuine and authentic approach to therapy. My emphasis will be on putting our relationship at the core of the work that we do together. Providing a safe and warm place to work with you to explore your thoughts and feelings without any pressure to be anything other than yourself.

I know from experience just how hard it can be to ask for help. I also know that when you are at your lowest point, you are open to the greatest change. Strength doesn't come from what you can do, it comes from overcoming the things you thought you couldn't and, that’s where I can help guide you to create, develop and nurture the change, that you deserve.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling, with expanding experience of providing therapy, particularly whilst working within the Canterbury Community Service.

I have helped people with a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD and suicidal thoughts. I have also worked with people suffering from domestic abuse, addiction and trauma and look closely at attachment styles and the concept of shame to explore how these can impact your relationship with yourself and others.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
