Our childhood shapes our adulthood. Shapes the way we view the world, ourselves and those around us. It is where most adult issues begin - including anxiety, co-dependency, anger, abuse and depression.
By tackling the original issue, we can change our lives for the better. No more: "Why do I always end up with an abuser?", or: "I'm too anxious to do that."
I provide a relaxing, confidential space where individuals and couples can share without fear of bias, judgement or ridicule.
"Brad guided me through a difficult time, showing great empathy, but also giving me practical tools to use day to day to help me with my issues. I would gladly recommend him without hesitation."
Mr P
Sometimes, just two sessions are enough to help clients happily go forward. Even debilitating anxiety is usually eliminated within 8 to 12 weekly sessions.
Sessions are run to suit you, not the other way round.
From the very beginning, clients are enabled share and begin better understand why they feel the way they do. Have lost count of the number of clients who say, sometimes in the very first session: "I've never told anyone this before but when..."
First Session
If you have never been to therapy before, don't worry. Am one of those people clients feel immediately relaxed with and able to begin sharing from the word go.
The Sessions
Every session is adapted to the client's needs, as therapy progresses. It is a caring, supportive process. Never any criticism, always unconditional, positive regard and progress at a pace to suit them.
Last Session
When it is time to part ways, the door is never closed. Former clients are always welcome to come back for a 'top up'. One example is a client who got back in touch when expecting their first child. One session was all it took.
Couples
Couples counselling is available regardless of gender. My only criteria is both parties must want to come.
Key therapeutic approaches:
- Gestalt
- Jungian
- Person-centred
- Psychodynamic
- Therapybrad timeline
- Wounded child
A lot of therapists claim to get fast or great results. I actually do.
My son remarked: "It's the only job where the better you are the less you earn.", as clients finish faster. I just smiled.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I offer a very relaxing, home-based office environment. Clients quickly feel comfortable and able to share - often telling things, even in the very first session, that they have never felt able to tell anyone else.
