Counsellor and Psychotherapist (MBACP)

About me

Do you say yes when you mean no?

You look like you've got it together - career, ambition, the people around you leaning on your strength. But underneath, you're exhausted. Saying no feels impossible. Setting a boundary feels like letting someone down. Over-giving has become your default, and somewhere along the way, you lost track of what you actually want.

I'm Belinda, a BACP Registered psychotherapist and coach with 15+ years' experience in mental health, including as former Head of Mental Health & Wellbeing for a major UK private medical insurer, specialising in helping high-achievers break free from people-pleasing, burnout, and self-doubt.

How I can help you:

  • Set boundaries that actually stick: at work, with family, in relationships
  • Recognise and interrupt people-pleasing and perfectionism patterns
  • Recover from burnout and chronic emotional exhaustion
  • Navigate family or cultural expectations that clash with your own needs
  • Rebuild self-trust after narcissistic or toxic relationship dynamics

Why I do this work

I know this from the inside. As a recovering people-pleaser who spent years overworking through burnout, anxiety and depression, I understand what it costs to keep proving yourself while quietly running on empty. Having worked in corporate law and financial services before re-training as a therapist, I also understand the specific pressures of high-performance environments.

How we work together

I integrate talking therapy, coaching, and somatic (body-based) techniques for change that lasts - not just insight, but a felt shift. I take an intersectional, culturally-attuned approach; clients from South Asian and other collectivist-culture backgrounds often find this brings an added layer of understanding around family duty and identity conflict - though this work is for anyone ready to stop performing and start living on their own terms.

What Clients Say

“Belinda has been such a fantastic therapist to me. She’s been so kind, empathetic and empowering. I lost hope in my mental health journey, until I met her. She’s been able to listen without judgement, and offer me valuable tools to help manage my mental health. I couldn’t recommend her enough!”

“Belinda really helped me through a tough period of transition, and I will always be grateful for her support, guidance and kindness. With Belinda’s help, I feel like I’ve grown and evolved a lot as a person. She also shared excellent resources to further aid the tools she was sharing with me in sessions on how to deal with different situations. I’m so grateful to Belinda and would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a therapist who truly wants to help! Thank you for everything Belinda!”

“Belinda has been absolutely incredible throughout my therapy journey and I honestly cannot thank her enough! From coming to my first session and struggling to open up, to now being a much more confident, self assured and fearless version of myself has been such a transformative journey. At times it is often hard to recognise myself and how far I have come! I now feel so equipped with all the tools I need to face whatever situation life throws at me – Thank you Belinda for everything you truly are amazing!”

“My sessions with Belinda have been truly pivotal in helping me navigate difficult times and gain a deeper understanding of myself. She is incredibly skilled at what she does, always ensuring that I feel heard while offering honest, thoughtful guidance. The insights and tools she provided will stay with me for the rest of my journey. Thank you, Belinda, for your support and expertise”

“Belinda was the right choice of therapist for me. I wanted to speak to someone who understood which stage of life I was in and also know the nuances of my cultural background. The work mostly centred around strategies to deal with negative self-talk and unresolved trauma that I had not addressed before. Seeking out Belinda’s help was one of the best decisions I have made for me.”

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
