About me

There are times in our lives when we struggle with the circumstances, we find ourselves in. Being able to talk about whatever we are having difficulty with can help us to explore what is going on within us. Talking provides an important avenue for us to find a way through all the difficult thoughts and emotions we feel which impact on our ability to be able to lead the life we want. Self-awareness can be the first step towards the change we want to see in our lives. I provide a confidential and non-judgmental space for you to talk about anything that is troubling you, I will be alongside you throughout this journey. I am passionate about empowering anxious individuals to thrive with confidence.

I specialise in working with trauma and the way it impacts different aspects of a person’s life. I work with my clients to navigate through the difficult feelings and thoughts that come with those who have gone through traumatic experiences.

I have been able to support individuals, from different backgrounds, who sought counselling for various reasons. My counselling practice approach is Person-centred and humanistic. This approach is about allowing the client to explore their thoughts and feelings in a warm, understanding and empathic way. It allows me to work in a holistic way with my clients as we collaboratively create an environment of growth. This way of working helps me to ensure that I have an affirming and genuine counselling relationship with my clients.

I am an accredited member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I work in accordance with the BACP standards and codes of ethics.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
