About me

This is the first step on the path to where you need to be, and this step is an important gift to yourself.

We can explore the paths together.

Hello my name is Antony.  I am an a Integrative registered BACP Therapist.  I offer psychotherapy and counselling either in-person in Richmond, online video, or by telephone.

There are many reasons for seeking support, whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, loss, low self-esteem, fears, feeling overwhelmed or questioning the direction of your life – therapy offers a non-judgemental, safe space to work through the challenges of life.

Therapy is not about advice or assumptions.  It is about having a confidential space to explore why your life feels like it does and offers hope for change.

I work in both an Integrative and Relational way.  “Integrative” means I draw from a variety of different therapeutic approaches.  You are unique and my approach matches your personal needs. Being “Relational” reflects my belief that we can heal and grow through a trusting relationship. The trust serves as a healthy model for current and future relationships with others, as well as yourself.

It is my intention that you can understand your own wants and needs, as well as discover not just who you have become, but new ways of living. I hope that each client I work with can understand and use their natural strengths and abilities to flourish in life.

To ensure you feel comfortable and confident in making the right choice of a therapist, I offer an initial phone consultation session.  During this session we can discuss what brings you to therapy and what you would like to achieve.  This is an opportunity for you to ask me any questions you may have, and I will talk to you about how we may work together to best support you.

Training, qualifications & experience

Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

In addition to my private practice, I volunteered for two years at The Awareness Centre which offers private low-cost and NHS counselling.

I am a listening volunteer with the Samaritans.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
