About me

We are experiencing the largest crisis of a generation, I will be providing normal services by phone and internet at reduced rates to help you cope with anxieties and changing life circumstances brought in by the current situation. I can help you deal with uncertainty and anxiety you may be experiencing.

I describe myself as an Integrative Therapist as I use a powerful blend of the most effective therapies to enable you to make the changes you want. In 2007 I started my training as an NLP consultant and a Clinical Hypnotherapist. This ignited a strong interest in helping people to make positive changes and in 2010 I obtained my certificate in counselling in Llandrillo College in North Wales.

In 2011 I started seeing clients and was astounded at how effective this type of therapy is in helping people to turn their lives around and start achieving their goals. My commitment to my clients and also to my own personal development to gain more skills and experience, led me back into studying in 2013 and I enrolled on a diploma course in integrative counselling. The models I trained in include, psychodynamic and person centered counselling, gestalt therapy and CBT.  I am registered with the BACP and strictly adhere to their framework and guidelines.

As an integrative therapist I use a wide range of counselling skills, together with hypnotherapy and NLP to help bring about change. I have always been interested in psychology and how the subconscious programs and conditioning from our past affect us in the present. I am passionate about helping people to achieve harmony and happiness in their life's and to realise their potential. I specialise in working with:

  • stress and anxiety disorders
  • Relationship and family problems
  • depression and phobias
  • habits of addictions.

My clients come from all walks of life, however they all have one thing in common in that they want help to change. Some of the issues that people seek help for are listed below.

  • current life crises such as breakdown of relationship
  • retirement or loss of job
  • stress related illness
  • anger management
  • depression
  • low confidence and self esteem
  • habits of addictions.
  • life changes

'Its good to talk' a phrase that was coined by the actress Maureen Lipman in BT's award winning telephone commercials in 1990's and it is a phrase that is also the basis of counselling therapy. Talking about your problems to someone who will listen and appreciate and empathise with you, enables you to start to open up at a deep level inside and start the process of acceptance, change and ultimately healing.

How can I help you?

The skill I bring as your counsellor is to be totally present with you, to listen without judging and to ask the 'right ' questions that will help you understand yourself and create solutions and new goals that will help you create the changes that you want.

What to expect at a first session

I work in a flexible way and during our first session we will talk about the issues that have made you seek therapy and then work out a goal plan for therapy. A first session will often be a double length session and may include relaxation techniques. It is a time to start exploring issues and create some goals for your therapy. .

Further sessions will normally last about 55 minutes at weekly intervals or as agreed at the first consultation. For many clients about 5 - 8 sessions will be enough however progress is monitored regularly and more or less sessions will be agreed on depending on progress. Sometimes just one session will enable you to start making changes.

I offer you years of experience together with commitment and a passion to help you overcome your problems and create a harmonious life balance and the goals and dreams that you want to achieve.
I always aim to offer a safe comfortable environment where you will feel relaxed and valued. I am registed with the BACP and adhere strictly to their guidelines.  Complete confidentiality is assured

I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to answer any questions you may have and help you make up your mind about whether this therapy is right for you. I also offer a 30 minute consultation in my office if you prefer to come and meet me. There is a £20 cost for this.

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
