About me

There are times in life when things are feeling difficult, worrying, upsetting and even impossible to manage. Life has felt manageable but something has occurred that has tipped the scale and you are wondering what has happened. This may occur to you, as an individual or within a relationship. There are many transitions in life that can bring us closer or drift us apart.

It may feel daunting thinking about sharing something that you have held and managed yourself and it may feel worrisome wondering what it could feel like once you have let it go.

I will listen and offer a space to whatever you would like to bring.

And in couple counselling, having a safe space and a third perspective can feel enabling enough to explore both of your inner worlds and their manifestation on your life as an individual and in your relationship. I am not here to judge your relationship but to offer insight with a reflective and open mind.

I have a great interest in perinatal mental health and belief that this time can bring up many different feelings and emotions, for anyone involved but especially the expecting parent(s). Having this space to reflect, prior your baby's arrival, will support your transition into parenthood. And once your baby has been born, this established space can be helpful to process the birth.

Psychodynamic counselling will give you further insight into the roots of your struggles e.g. anxiety, anger, stress, relationships etc. and more so working towards inner peace.

I offer face to face, online or telephone session, local to Chichester.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I also offer Equine Facilitated Therapy. This way of working enables you to have a very different experience to that you may be experiencing with other people. Being and sharing a space with a horse will enable you to explore and become aware of how you experience your surroundings e.g. work, family, the world etc. and how your feelings, thoughts and actions impact that.

You will become more aware of your body's responses as well as establish healthy boundaries.
