About me

Hello, I am Amy.

An incredibly passionate, BACP registered Integrative (this means I use a variety of approaches and theories in our work together) counsellor and psychotherapist.

I am extremely passionate and experienced with neurodiversity.

I understand how overwhelming it might feel scrolling through so many therapists profiles, reading numerous paragraphs and qualifications, but the fact that you are scrolling is already the ultimate first step you can take in your healing journey. It takes courage to seek help, whether it be for something that has happened yesterday, 20 years ago, or if there hasn't been anything in particular, you might just want to be heard, to process the difficulties that can come with every day life. Therapy may not be easy, but it really is worth it and in my opinion, the greatest gift you could ever give yourself.

I offer a non judgmental, empathetic, safe and inclusive space for you to open up, explore and process your feelings, emotions and traumas. You really are the main character of your life and you are worth investing in yourself. That includes all the versions of you, past, current and future you.

It isn't a one size fits all service. I offer a free introduction meeting which is 15-20 minutes to see if we are a match and would like to work with each other. During this session, you can tell me as much or as little as you'd like and you can ask me any questions that may have.. You have full autonomy, you are the driver and I am the passenger, so there is absolutely no pressure from me if I am not the one for you. I want you to have the right experience that you deserve to have. The right connection is so important to creating the fundamental foundation to your therapy journey.

I look forward to your email, and then we will go from there. Please check your spam box for my reply.

Sending light always,

Amy

Training, qualifications & experience

  • FDA Integrative Counselling, BACP accredited, validated by the University of Worcester.
  • Certificate in Counselling skills.

Before doing my counselling training, I have worked in a variety of mental health services. From secure units to dementia and end of life wards. Being there for someone and their families at the end of their life, will forever be one of greatest honours and privileges of my life.

I have worked at Young Devon, counselling children and young people aged 11-25. I have a huge amount of passion and experience with working with children and young people, parents, and neurodiversity.

I continue to do CPD courses so that my knowledge is up to date.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
