About me

Are you struggling with anxiety?stress? constantly worrying? Navigating through anxiety can be challenging, but you don't have to do it alone. I am here to offer my expertise and support.

I am a dedicated and empathic counsellor with a passion for helping.  I have many years experience in helping individuals understand and manage their anxiety, whether it generalised anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, panic disorder etc.

Anxiety is a normal human emotion and it is normal for us to feel anxious at certain times, for example before an important exam, presentation etc.  However, when anxiety starts to spiral, become overwhelming and prevent you living life to the full, it can make you feel very isolated and alone.

I believe that each person’s experience of anxiety is unique. As a fellow sufferer I have a deep understanding of how debilitating it can be and the impact it can have on daily life. Living in a constant state of worry and fear can be an uphill struggle.

I can provide a safe and non-judgmental space where you will have the opportunity to explore and understand the root of your anxiety.  I will work with you to develop a holistic treatment plan and include developing coping strategies, which will help you build resilience and improve your well-being.

I also have a particular passion for supporting individuals through the complexities of grief and loss. It is common for individuals who have suffered the loss of a person, relationship, job to suffer with anxiety.  I feel that my work as a volunteer at a dedicated bereavement centre in the city centre has greatly enhanced my understanding of anxiety and my work in private practice.

I believe in the importance of finding the right counsellor. That's why I offer a complimentary initial consultation, providing you the opportunity to determine if we're a good match. Should you choose to continue, we can arrange regular sessions on a weekly or fortnightly basis, at a time that suits your busy schedule.

Remember, you're not alone in this. Please feel free to reach out via phone or email to schedule your free initial consultation. I'm here to listen and support you every step of the way.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
