About me

Sometimes everyday life can feel like an emotional rollercoaster, and we just want to get off the ride, but can’t find a way to make it stop. At times, it can feel overwhelming, and that you have tried everything to change it, but things still feel too much. Does this sound familiar?

Anxiety, depression, stress, work burnout, bereavement and grief, social anxiety, loneliness and isolation, relationship pressures, and family issues are all common reasons that people make the decision to engage in counselling.

How I work

If you are thinking about seeking help from counselling, I can offer you a friendly, calm, non-judgmental space. Making the decision to enter into counselling is not an easy one, but I will be there to support you on your journey in a way that enables you to feel safe, knowing you won’t be on that journey alone. I will be there with you, to walk alongside you, and guide you to where you want to be.

I see the therapeutic relationship, the connection between counsellor and client, as central to laying the best roots to provide a safe, non judgemental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and emotions. By engaging in this relationship, we can explore together, at your pace, what will help you. This will in turn allow you to grow and flourish into the person you want to be.

How I can help

Through counselling, we can explore together what’s going on for you, how this is affecting you emotionally, how you would like things to be different, and how you can make positive steps to making changes in your life.

If you are feeling that parts of your life are unfulfilled or that your emotions and feelings are a roadblock to you becoming who you want to be, I can help to support you through your journey.

My ambition is to empower you to find your own solutions to what’s going on for you, now and in the future.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
