About me
If you are feeling lost with a particular issue that you want to learn how to deal with or you find yourself in a crossroad in your life and you want to explore the possible direction to take. I provide a trusting relationship and a non-judgemental safe space where at your own time and space you can freely explore.
I have experience in working with addictions, anger, anxiety management issues, bereavement, co-dependency, and relationship issues, working through life transitions and work-related issues. I provide trauma therapy for complex-ptsd and ptsd using an integrative transpersonal model together with incorporating mindfulness and body work.
With my curious and explorative personality I aim to build a relationship based on authenticity and trust. With gentleness and compassion I facilitate a non-judgemental safe creative space where with playfulness you can explore current issues. I will travel alongside you on your journey of healing and self-discovery.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained as a Transpersonal Integrative psychotherapist at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy education CCPE. I hold a Master Degree in Transpersonal Counselling and Psychotherapy awarded by the University of Northampton and a Diploma in Transpersonal Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy also from CCPE.
Transpersonal psychotherapy is a holistic approach that honours the interconnectedness of body, mind and spirit. Transpersonal means “beyond the personal”. It is concerned with the integration and harmonisation of body, mind and spirit. This integration brings healing and transformation.
I am an Accredited member with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I am bilingual and offer sessions in both English and Italian.
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
An area of particular interest is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Complex-PTSD. In recent times there has been increased interest in this field of research with significant advances in trauma treatment, e.g. EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.
These models have been successful in enabling people to process and release PTSD symptoms. In my own experience the introduction of creative strategies like drawing and painting, Sandplay, and clay work have further enabled me to safely work with the defences formerly adopted to cope with traumatic overwhelm.
“Traumatic symptoms are not caused by the event itself. They arise when residual energy from the experience is not discharged from the body. This energy remains trapped in the nervous system where it can wreak havoc on our bodies and minds.” Peter Levine Mindfulness is another key element in my practice. A deepening of body awareness within a safe setting, offers the possibility of gently connecting with and releasing, the traumatic memories stored in your body.
