About me

Welcome!
I pride my professional practice on being down-to-earth, professional, non-judgmental and confidential.

If you’re here, something may not feel right. You might be managing anxiety that never fully switches off, carrying the weight of trauma, navigating relationship strain, or simply feeling stuck and exhausted by life.

Whatever has brought you here, you deserve a space where you can speak openly and feel genuinely heard.

I offer a calm, structured and supportive environment where we work together at a pace that feels safe and manageable. My approach is collaborative and evidence-based, grounded in psychological understanding but delivered in a way that feels human and real. Clients often say they appreciate having a therapist who is steady and professional, yet approachable and straightforward.

Areas I Work With
I support adults experiencing:

  • Trauma, PTSD and moral injury
  • Anxiety and panic including phobia's
  • Stress and burnout
  • Depression and low mood
  • Grief and bereavement
  • Addiction - Including substances, sex, porn and voyerism
  • Relationship and attachment difficulties
  • Life transitions and identity challenges

Some clients arrive with a clear goal. Others simply know they don’t feel like themselves anymore. Both are valid starting points.

Therapy is not about being analysed or told what to do. It is about understanding patterns, processing experiences safely, and developing practical, sustainable ways forward.

EMDR & Trauma Work
Where appropriate, I integrate EMDR therapy, particularly for clients affected by traumatic or distressing experiences and anxieties that still feel emotionally charged.

Trauma can leave you feeling hyper-alert, emotionally numb, easily triggered, or disconnected from who you used to be. EMDR helps the brain process experiences that have become “stuck”, reducing their emotional intensity so you can move forward without feeling defined by the past.

Blue Light & Armed Forces
I have significant experience supporting individuals working within police, ambulance, NHS, fire services and the Armed Forces, as well as veterans and their families.

With lived frontline experience and professional counselling roles within emergency services, I understand:

Cumulative trauma exposure
Critical incidents
Moral injury
Hyper-vigilance
Emotional suppression
Occupational stress
You do not need to explain the culture or minimise your experiences. Therapy offers a confidential space where you don’t have to hold everything together.

My Commitment to You
Beneath the therapist is a human being with life experience and personality. While I maintain professional boundaries, I believe people feel safest when therapy feels real.

You can expect:

A steady and grounded presence
Honest and respectful conversations
Emotional safety
Clear boundaries
A collaborative approach
I aim to help you recalibrate — not just cope, but reconnect with who you are and where you want to go.

First Steps
I offer a free consultation by phone or Zoom/Teams so you can decide whether working together feels right for you. Just get in contact via the email link in my profile and we can get something booked in.

If you choose to proceed, our first session focuses on understanding what has led you here, your goals for therapy, and what already helps (and what doesn’t). We agree boundaries and a therapeutic plan so you feel safe and contained from the outset.

Reaching out can feel daunting — but it may also be the next step toward meaningful change.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
