About me

As a Humanistic therapist, I value your story and your perspective, whilst being mindful of the barriers you may have faced in society. My hope is that you, and all your different parts, even those aspects you struggle to accept, feel welcomed and respected.

If you chose to work with me, at a pace you set, we will explore together your emotions, thoughts, beliefs and what you notice in your body. I will support you in expanding your narrative to help you understand yourself, your experiences, and your relationships. From here, I believe compassion for yourself, and others can be built whilst encouraging flexibility to make meaningful changes.

My approach is influenced by existential ideas which encourage me to focus on issues that come from your individual experience. Alongside this, I am influenced by trauma-informed somatic approaches which value the vast amount of information our bodies can hold about our experiences and how gently engaging with this can provide healing and connection.

I offer weekly therapy to individuals over 18, either in person from locations in Worthing, Brighton, and Hove or online. Making the first step in therapy can be daunting but please know that I will meet you with compassion.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Humanistic Psychotherapy and Counselling from the University of Brighton.

I am fully insured and am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work within their ethical framework.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
