About me

Thank you for checking out my profile. I am a psychotherapist with more than 20 years' experience. My consulting room is near central Oxford, and I work face-to-face.

People come to me when they are facing some kind of difficulty or challenge. This might mean they are worried about things in the future, or impacted by events in the past. They may be affected by issues in relationships or the wider environment. They may be feeling stuck in their life or career, or that they don’t fit in their current situation. They can be dealing with feelings of anxiety, grief, anger or depression, or simply feeling discontented in life.

In my room, I aim to provide a space in which we are able to talk about whatever’s on your mind. This allows you to explore your experiences, and discuss your problems and difficulties. To decide what you want to change, and consider how to cope with what you can't change.

My approach is based on Relational Transactional Analysis (TA). TA provides ways of looking at people's history, psychological make-up, the unhelpful patterns they tend to repeat in their lives, and the ways they communicate with and relate to others. It is suited both to short-term goal-focussed counselling, and longer-term more exploratory psychotherapy.

If you are interested, do please contact me by phone or email. We can then make an initial appointment. The aim of that session is to allow both of us to see how we feel about working together, and to let you decide whether you want to continue working with me.
