About me

Hello, I'm a Pluralistic/Integrative counsellor with a passion for supporting people to overcome their difficulties and improve their wellbeing.

Do you sometimes feel unheard, misunderstood, or overwhelmed? Do you ruminate on past events or struggle to communicate your wants and needs? Do you wish you could get on track with your emotions and enjoy life more?

Counselling can help you!

Anxiety can accumulate from day-to-day stress and can also stem from past trauma, deeply rooted in our upbringing. Often, when we experience trauma, intense life stressors or blows to our well-being, we feel frustrated and confused.

Let’s talk about it! It helps immensely to have a safe and confidential space where our concerns are heard and understood in a warm and non-judgmental way. I strive to create such a space where insight, new perspectives, solutions, and growth, can be cultivated.

I work pluralistically, meaning that I derive tools from the various modalities of psychotherapy (CBT, Person-centred, Psychodynamic) and tailor them to each client's unique needs. It also means that I work collaboratively and transparently with my clients, and together we decide the best course of action for their therapeutic journey.

Working with me, you’ll have a safe space to bring in your concerns. Whether it be long-term or short-term, past or future-oriented therapy. We’ll work together to clarify your needs and aims. These could be being more assertive, managing stress, gaining self-understanding and emotional education, improving your self-esteem or enriching your communication skills. I’ll walk alongside you and gently guide your way toward your goals.

My practice is research-informed as I constantly update my knowledge with the most recent studies in the field. I also regularly undertake clinical supervision where a more experienced counsellor monitors and inspires my work to assist me in offering a high-quality and ethical service.

Counselling takes commitment; it can sometimes feel challenging, but it will offer the most precious rewards!

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
