About me
A warm hello to you! I'm Yvonni, a Pluralistic/Integrative counsellor passionate about supporting people to cope with life stressors and improve their wellbeing. I currently offer sessions in-person in Edinburgh and online via Zoom.
Do you sometimes feel unheard, misunderstood, or overwhelmed? Do you struggle with anxiety and feel like your wants and needs aren't being met? Do you want to improve your relationships and confidence to enjoy life more? Counselling can help you!
Who I'm working with:
Not exclusively but mostly, I work with people who go through life transitions such as: changing careers, studying, moving, breaking up, getting engaged, coping with loss.
Anxiety, low mood and low self-esteem can accumulate from daily stress or stem from past trauma and our upbringing. Stress can also be work-related or arise from family issues and interpersonal relationships. When we face difficult situations and unprocessed emotions, our mental health takes a blow. Then we might end up feeling sad, overwhelmed, and lonely for a long time. And sometimes these can present ''without apparent reason'', making us feel even more confused. You're not alone; things can make sense.
How I'm working:
It helps immensely to have a safe and confidential space where our concerns are warmly heard and explored without judgment. In my practice, I strive to create a space where insight, solutions, and growth, can be cultivated. I combine my knowledge of several modalities to offer tools and methods to make sense of triggers, patterns and beliefs that hold us back. I also offer psychoeducation and ways to manage difficult emotions. One thing I often hear from my clients is their regret for not starting counselling sooner.
Time to take action:
We are all human, experiencing challenges in life. You don't have to go through them alone! Everyone can benefit from counselling, psychotherapy, therapy. I'm using these terms as one, to mean one thing: the deep work to the rewarding self-awareness and growth. By being here, looking for a counsellor, you're taking the first step towards improving the quality of your life.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
